“View in your room”: your product at real size
Let buyers see your product in their room at its real size through their phone camera: the size you enter, and the GLB and USDZ 3D model files and their limits.
Product pages have a “View in your room” button: the buyer opens the camera and points the phone at the floor where they want the product, and it appears at its real size so they can walk around it and see whether it fits. It's very useful for furniture, large appliances and decor. On a computer, the buyer gets a code to scan with their phone to continue.
Who sets it up
The seller who first listed the product sets it up, once per product, from My products, then “Offer tools”, then “View in your room”. If you joined a product another seller listed, the tool doesn't show for you.
Two ways to show it
| Option | What you provide | What the buyer sees |
|---|---|---|
| Size only | The product's width, depth and height in centimetres. | A see-through light-blue box of exactly that size, with a note that the seller hasn't added a 3D model. |
| 3D model | A GLB or USDZ file of the product, or both. | The product itself, with its shape and colours, at its real size. |
The button shows once you add a 3D model, or all three measurements.
Adding the size
- Open “Offer tools” on the product's card, then “View in your room”, and press “Edit”.
- In “Size in centimetres: width × depth × height”, enter the product's size assembled and ready to use, not the carton's. Each dimension 1 to 3,000 cm, decimals allowed (such as 75.5).
- Press “Save size”.
Uploading a 3D model
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Format | GLB (binary glTF 2.0) for the 3D view and Android, USDZ for iPhone. Without a USDZ, the iPhone view is made from the GLB. |
| File size | Up to 25 MB per file. |
| Units | The model is built in metres, at the product's real size. |
| Compression | No Draco, Meshopt or KTX2/Basis compression. Export the file uncompressed. |
| Pictures inside the model | The texture pictures inside the model are checked for contact details like every picture on the platform; a model showing a number or a link is refused. |
- Under “3D model (optional)”, press “Upload file” and choose a GLB or USDZ file.
- Upload the other format the same way if you have it.
- To delete the models press “Remove models”: both GLB and USDZ are removed, and the view goes back to the box if the size is saved.
