Messaging buyers
All contact with buyers stays on the platform. Phone numbers, emails, links, app names and QR codes are blocked in text and pictures, and any attempt pauses messaging and alerts the team.
Messaging happens only on the Messages page; the buyer starts the conversation and you reply. Sellers can't start a conversation. Any signed-in buyer can start one in two ways:
- A question about a product: from the product page, with "Ask the seller a question" under your offer.
- A message about an order: from their order page, with "Message the seller about this order" under the part you ship. They can do this once the order has reached you (cash on delivery, paid, or 30-day terms).
- A verified business buyer can also ask for a quote or about export. See Business buyers.
What you see in Messages
- The buyer's first name and country. A verified business buyer shows by company name with a "Verified business" tag. Their contact details never show.
- The topic: "Question", "Order", "Quote" or "Export", with the product or the order number, and the quantity and destination country when given. Tap the order number above the conversation to open that order.
- How many messages are new.
You can send text and a picture, and every message is checked before it's delivered.
What is blocked
- Phone numbers in any form: Arabic, Persian or Latin digits, spelled out in words, or broken up with spaces and symbols.
- Email addresses, even written as "name at gmail dot com".
- Links and web addresses.
- Names of messaging apps and social networks, @handles, and phrases such as "call me" or "my number".
- Any of the above inside a picture: the system reads Arabic and English text in pictures, and reads QR codes.
Ordinary trade talk is fine: quantities, prices, model numbers, and a barcode when you write the word "barcode" before it.
What happens after an attempt
- The message isn't delivered, and you see it marked: "Not delivered: it contained contact details."
- Your messaging is paused at once, together with your answers to buyer requests, until Majyk Danya's team contacts you and lifts it.
- Majyk Danya's team gets an alert with the details of the attempt.
If a picture can't be checked, it isn't sent, and nothing is held against you. Try again shortly or send text.
